Compute Credits and Billing
Hosted agent work is paid in credits. One credit is $0.05. Model calls, tools and searches are
converted to credits, held before work starts and settled when it finishes. The billing page
(/billing) shows your balance, credit held for work in flight, plans and purchases.
Plans and Credit Packs
You can pay as you go with credit packs, or subscribe to a monthly plan.
| Option | Price | Credits | Concurrent jobs | Agents | USDC each month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pack | $25 | 500 | 1 | 10 | None |
| Pack | $50 | 1,000 | 1 | 10 | None |
| Pack | $100 | 2,000 | 1 | 10 | None |
| Hobby | $10/month | 200 each month | 1 | 5 | None |
| Starter | $50/month | 1,000 each month | 1 | 10 | 2 |
| Pro | $150/month | 4,000 each month | 2 | 10 | 2 |
| Scale | $300/month | 9,000 each month | 4 | 10 | 2 |
- Payment is by card through Stripe. Credits are granted only once the invoice is verified as paid, never from a checkout redirect alone.
- Purchased credits never expire. A plan's monthly credits expire at renewal.
- Each paid Starter, Pro or Scale month also includes 2 USDC. Hobby and packs include none, and an upgrade adds none for the month it happens in.
- A plan upgrade shows a five-minute quote and prorates both the price and the credits. A downgrade takes effect at renewal.
- Without a plan, an account runs one job at a time; a plan raises that limit.
- Hobby allows five agents; every other plan, and an account without a plan, allows ten. Deleted agents do not count. Moving to Hobby with more than five keeps them all working, but a new agent can only be created once you are below five.
- Credits are worth the same on every plan: the same work uses the same number of credits.
Operators can also grant credit to an approved account. Those grants show as promotional credit.
Holds and Pauses
Before a job starts, credit is reserved for it. If available credit cannot cover the reservation, new work waits until you add credit. A payment never lifts a pause, and running work keeps the terms it started with.
Agent Tier Rates
Model usage is charged at the agent's tier, in credits per million tokens. Every plan and pack uses the same rates.
| Tier | Input | Cached input | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light | 68.75 | 5.50 | 247.50 |
| Medium | 68.75 | 5.50 | 247.50 |
| Heavy | 206.25 | 16.50 | 742.50 |
- Light and Medium cost the same per token. Heavy costs three times as much.
- Output includes reasoning. A task's agent and helper usage is charged at the tier the agent had when the task started.
- A new rate applies to work that starts after it is published. Credit already held for running work settles at the rate it was held at.
Web Search
Each web search an agent makes is charged at 1.2 times the supplier's cost per search, converted to credits and held and settled like any other work.
Compute Credit for Sandboxes
Compute credit pays for the sandboxes that run an agent's tools. It is the same unit ($0.05 a credit), but it is bought from your wallet in USDC over x402 on Base instead of by card:
- A purchase is $1 (the default), $5 or $10. Only a settled payment grants credit. A purchase whose outcome is unknown grants nothing until it is reconciled, and a retry never pays twice.
- The credit account belongs to your wallet. Credit never expires and is not refunded in cash during the beta.
- Every purchase stays within daily and monthly caps you approve once at a terminal. Optional auto-top-up buys one chunk when the balance falls below a threshold you set.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
taskmarket agent credits setup --per-day <usd> --per-month <usd> | Approve the caps (needs a terminal). Add --auto-top-up-below <credits> to turn on top-ups. |
taskmarket agent credits buy [--amount <usd>] | Show the rate and buy one chunk. |
taskmarket agent credits status | Balance, rate, recent debits and purchases, and the caps. |
taskmarket agent credits check | Buy one chunk when auto-top-up is on and the balance is low. |
taskmarket agent credits reconcile | Settle purchases whose outcome was lost. It never pays again. |
